Noda Megumi, also known as Nodame, is a free-spirited piano student at Momogaoka School of Music. She meets the elite student Chiaki Shin'ichi, who aspires to become a conductor. While they study music, play in orchestras and practice for competitions, the two make friends with an assortment of eccentric musicians.
