Hundreds of years ago, humans were nearly exterminated by the giant Titans, but a small percentage survived by in a city enclosed by extremely high walls. Nobody has seen a Titan in over 100 years, but Eren and his sister Mikasa watch as the city walls are destroyed by a colossal Titan that appears out of thin air.
