In Edo-era Japan, the Amanto aliens invaded the Earth, overpowered the government, and outlawed the carrying of swords by the once-proud samurai. In this strange new era Gintoki Sakata is an eccentric samurai with naturally permed silver hair who runs an odd jobs shop called Yoruzuya Gin-chan, which does almost anything for a price.
