The International Anime Research Project has been studying various aspects of the psychology of anime fans for the past three years. In this year’s panel we’ll cover the perception of anime fans and the veracity of anime fan stereotypes. If you like science and data, or just want to know what non-anime-fans think of you, then this is the panel for you.

Dr. Stephen Reysen (aka “Doc”) is an anime fan and co-founder of the International Anime Research Project, a team of social scientists studying the anime fandom. Dr. Reysen’s research interests in the anime fandom revolve around the social identity processes that anime fans experience and the felt connection between the content and sense of self.
