Battle for the Past: Director’s Edition is a continuation of our staple Battle for the Past: Pre Y2K Anime lecture, originally meant to introduce attendees to Anime from the pre-2000's. Just like last time, we will predominantly focus on film and Original Video Animation (OVA), presenting the panel in two halves with the first half centered on 80’s Anime and the second half centered on 90’s Anime. This time, we plan on focusing on key directors that gave 80’s and 90’s anime their distinct feel. We will show openings or short sequences, turning it into an informing-through-viewing lecture. We want our highlighted series to be accessible and enticing to viewers by demonstrating relative small investment time and readily available English access.
