Seinen Jumps & Josei Beats: Introduction to Seinen & Josei Manga is a lecture meant to introduce attendees to various Seinen and Josei titles licensed in English. We will go over a brief history of Seinen and Josei titles in the United States, as well as explain common elements of both. Furthermore, we will suggest a variety of licensed titles, from popular and well-known series like Berserk and Monster, to hidden gems like Utsubora: The Story of a Novelist and Helter Skelter. We will provide a synopsis of each series we describe, and include a PowerPoint to serve as a visual aid.
