EKS-D ParaPara is a Dallas/Ft. Worth-based parapara dance troupe that has been actively promoting the parapara dance style since 2006. Some of our members have been dancing parapara since as early as 2002, so we come to the table with 2 decades of experience with the dance style and the eurobeat, dance pop, and hyper techno music that accompany it. Our workshops give attendees a brief overview of the dance style, its origins, and the associated music. However, our primary goal is to get everyone dancing and having FUN with this energetic dance style. We try to appeal to as many learning styles as possible, providing approaches for visual, auditory, and kinesthetic (motion-based) learners, so that everyone can get involved. We also welcome spectators if you're more of a people watcher, so come and enjoy! EKS-D and its members have conducted 6 major performances, countless dance exhibitions, and an average of 2-5 workshops annually at the following events over the years: A-kon (Dallas, TX) ~ 2008-2019 / AnimeFest (Dallas, TX) ~ 2008 & 2010-2019 / Animix (Killeen, TX) ~ 2008 & 2009 / Ikkicon (Austin, TX) ~ 2008 / Sakura-con (Seattle, WA) ~ 2009 / SanJapan (San Antonio, TX) ~ 2008-2011 / If you love to dance, if you like catchy electronic music, or if you like things that are Japanese to their core (duh, you're at an anime convention), then this is the panel for you!
