Idol Culture is becoming increasingly popular in the west in recent years. Many people make a hobby or career for themselves by performing dance and song covers of popular idol music (such as excerpts from Love Live!), and others even create and perform their very own music. Idol Festivals are a place that provide a stage for aspiring idols of all kinds to show what they've been working on, be found by new fans, and get support for their hobby. Larger anime conventions such as Anime Weekend Atlanta have been hosting an idol festival for several years now, and the cosplay community greatly appreciates being provided a stage on which to perform.
Idol anime is becoming much more popular as well, and there are tons of people that love watching and listening to idol music, even if they do not perform any themselves. At the recent convention MTAC (Middle Tennessee Anime Convention), a small space was allotted to not one but two idol festivals, both of which overflowed the room by double. There is a high demand for idol shows and the ability to attend them.
My name is Alyssa, I go by Artemis in the cosplay/idol community. I have hosted the Royal Idol Festival at Kami-con in Birmingham, AL since 2019, and this year I will also be hosting the Sweet Peach Idol Fest at MomoCon in Atlanta, GA in May. I have lots of experience in coordinating and organizing idol festivals and can guarantee a smooth and successful show. The first step to my process is receiving confirmation from the convention that we will be given a panel slot and a place to perform. Following this confirmation, I will put out applications for other idol groups to apply. Accepted groups will be asked to provide a setlist of music and possibly videos to play while they dance, and then I will create a single playlist with everything in order. We will MC for ourselves during the show to transition from one group to the next. Thank you very much for your consideration. With this con being one of my favorites that I am willing to drive over ten hours for, I would love to bring an Idol Festival to AnimeFest.
