Wrestling is Anime!
Dual Presentation CULTURE
If you like anime, you'll probably like wrestling, too! Magical girls, kaiju attacks, robots, true fighting spirit, and lessons on the power of friendship are just a few things that anime and wrestling share. From the mainstream American pro wrestling scene to Japanese "puroresu", we'll cover the likes of wrestling dinosaurs, exploding barbwire deathmatches, v-tubers, combat maids, and foul-mouthed J-Pop idols that have graced the inside of the ring. Whether you're a wrestling skeptic or a seasoned fan, we're here to prove that wrestling is, in fact, anime!

I am an experienced panelist that has presented many well-received panels at different conventions over the past 6 years, including A-Kon, Anime Frontier, Anime North Texas, and Weebcon. I have not yet done Animefest, and I'm hoping this is my year to do it! I typically specialize in pro wrestling-related topics, promoting discourse between anime and pro wrestling fans. I'm the creator of the Danganwrestling (Danganronpa x WWE), Doki Doki Wrestling Club, and Undertale Wrestling YouTube series, so I'm pretty well-versed in creating wrestling-related content. The point of this "Wrestling is Anime" panel is to show anime fans that wrestling shares a lot of common with anime by exposing them to the more fun and wacky aspects of the sport. The presentation will focus a lot on Japanese wrestling, as that's typically what an anime fan would enjoy, and it should also be pretty interesting to mainstream wrestling fans as well. I've run previous versions of this panel before, but the wrestling landscape is constantly changing, especially this year as multiple new wrestling companies have grown in prominence very recently. This presentation will be updated to cover these new developments.
