Designing Cosplay: An Introduction

I am Blush Bunny Designs and have been cosplaying for over ten years. I am currently pursuing a career in costume design at UNT in the theatre program. I have a passion for designing costumes as well as breaking down character designs into basic elements. The topic of this panel is great for beginners and intermediate cosplayers to help present a design perspective in creating costumes. This is meant to be a fun and informative panel that is acceptable for all ages.

This panel's main focus is to help those who are unsure on where to start with a cosplay and what that first step might look like. How to find a characters main color scheme, what are some identifying symbols, and is a wig style and color just as important. Once you have all of those, how do you then translate that into a design of your own and not necessarily that characters traditional costume. For all characters that might be monster to the simplest of human designs.
