Section I: Cosplay
Q: What is Cosplay?Cosplay is the practice of dressing up as a character from a tv show, movie, book, video game or other media, and is strongly associated with the Japanese genres of manga and anime. It is a kind of performance art in which Cosplayers (people participating in cosplay) use clothing, fashion accessories and body language to portray their favorite characters. The word is a portmanteau of costume play.

Q: What happened to the skit section?Instead of having a Skit Contest, AnimeFest 2019 will have a Cosplay Exhibition which will not be judged. More details can be found at the Cosplay Skit Exhibition

We all enjoy coming to the Sheraton every year for this convention so be sure to treat the hotel and its staff with the same respect you would like to receive.
While no changes to these rules are foreseen, certain circumstances may require that the rules be changed. Any updates to the rules will be noted in bold red print. A complete set of the rules will be available at Cosplay HQ throughout the convention.
